Introduction

The study program "Cisco Certified Network Professional" is organized by the specialized high-tech company Digital Academy created by the Group of Lecturers of the NTUA Multimedia Technology Laboratory. It is an intensive program that combines intensive practical training with e-learning techniques, allowing the trainee to minimize his physical presence in the laboratory while attending a high-level scientific training program from his home, his office, or from the place of his choice and at the time of his choice, via the Internet.

The duration of the seminar is 16 weeks and corresponds to 400 hours of lessons.

Methodology

According to our educational program, the material is divided into 21 educational units corresponding to 36 teaching weeks and the program is completed with a final exam. The distance learning program is based on the latest version of the free software (open source) Moodle, which is implemented on the PHP & MySQL programming platform. The online courses are hosted on proprietary servers incorporating state-of-the-art technologies.

This specialized Digital Academy program equips students who wish to pursue a career in IT with a strong professional certificate.

The CCNP is organized into three subsections. Candidates should have the knowledge offered in the CCNA modules, as the CCNP builds upon them the more specialized and advanced knowledge and skills that real-world applications require. The main subjects of instruction are complex network layouts, their diagnostic issues and the most advanced troubleshooting techniques. Η κατοχή των πιστοποιήσεων CCNA δεν είναι προϋπόθεση για την παρακολούθηση των μαθημάτων του CCNP, είναι ωστόσο, ισχυρά συνιστώμενη.

Purpose of the seminar

The Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification validates students' ability to design, implement and control local LANs to wide area networks in terms of the services that modern networks such as voice and video can offer in parallel with data transfer. The CCNP certification is suitable for those who have at least one year of networking experience and hold the CCNA certification. Those who succeed in the CCNP have demonstrated the skills required for operational roles such as network technician or network engineer.
