Introduction

The "Cisco Certified Network Associate" study program is organized by the specialized high-tech company Digital Academy created by the Team of Lecturers of the NTUA Multimedia Technology Laboratory. It is an intensive program that combines intensive practical training with e-learning techniques, allowing the trainee to minimize his physical presence in the laboratory, while attending a high-level scientific training program from his home, his office , or from the place of his choice and at the time of his choice, via the Internet. The program is designed in such a way that:

• No networking experience required of students
• Students try hands-on lab exercises on Cisco equipment
• Students are taught by instructors certified by Cisco training centers.

The duration is 28-32 weeks and corresponds to 400 hours of lessons.

Methodology

According to our educational program, the material is divided into 14 educational units corresponding to 32 teaching weeks and the program is concluded with a final exam. The distance learning program is based on the latest version of the free software (open source) Moodle, which is implemented on the PHP & MySQL programming platform. The online courses are hosted on proprietary servers incorporating state-of-the-art technologies.

Purpose of the seminar

The purpose of the seminar is to provide the necessary resources and scientific qualifications for the trainee to understand the functions of computer networks. To acquire the ability both to implement and develop local area networks in a company and to learn the most effective way of managing and maintaining them.
